Slack integration

Actions Alerts & Notifications

You can integrate your HUMAN platform with Slack to automate notifications when HUMAN detects incidents. You can use the Slack integration to create an alerts and notifications action.

Prerequisites

  • An existing Slack account to authenticate with.
  • A custom Slack app. See Slack’s quickstart guide to learn how to create one.
  • A Slack Bot User OAuth Token taken from the Slack app you create.
  • Appropriate role permissions to create and manage integrations

Integrate with Slack

  1. Navigate to Platform Settings > Integrations and click the Slack integration.
  2. Click Add Integration.
  3. Provide the following:
    • Integration name: How the integration will appear in your HUMAN account.
    • Authentication method: Select the authentication method for sending data.
      • If you select Web application firewall (WAF), also provide allowed IPs.
    • Token: Your Slack Bot User OAuth Token.
    • Testing channel: A Slack channel to send test messages to.
  4. Click Test Connection.
  5. Once the test succeeds, click Save changes.

You have successfully configured a Slack integration. Make sure to use the integration in an alerts and notifications action to trigger it.
