Your Code Defender System settings lets you manage your Code Defender injection and behavior from the portal. This gives you direct control over your Code Defender mitigation without needing to adjust your First Party snippet configuration.

You can learn about your System settings in this article.

Prerequisites

While any user has permission to view System settings, you must have Admin permissions to make changes.

About System settings

You can access these settings from Code Defender > Settings > System. You can toggle settings in the following ways:

  • Sensor injection: Toggles Code Defender on or off on selected applications.
  • Mitigation: Toggles mitigation on or off on selected applications.

Sensor injection

Sensor injection toggles your Code Defender sensor on all applications or specific applications you select. Toggling sensor injection off means that:

  • The Code Defender first-party JavaScript will not run on your customers’ browsers
  • Code Defender will not monitor, alert, or mitigate any activity
  • PCI DSS will not monitor or update your inventory

To update your sensor settings:

  1. In the Sensor injection section, select how you’d like to toggle your injection:
    • If you select Apply to all applications, select the switch to toggle the sensor on or off.
    • If you select Apply OFF to specific applications, then add or remove applications in the Select applications field. The sensor will turn off for any applications in the field.
  2. Select Save changes.

You have successfully updated your sensor’s state.

If you toggled your sensor injection and it still behaves in its previous state, this may be because you have a cached version in your sensor resource. If that’s the case, we recommend clearing this cache.

Mitigation

Mitigation toggles your Code Defender mitigation on all applications or specific applications you select. Toggling mitigation off means that Code Defender’s sensor will continue to monitor and send alerts on your application’s activity, but it won’t automatically block activity.

To update your mitigation settings:

  1. In the Mitigation section, select how you’d like to toggle mitigation:
    • If you select Apply to all applications, select the switch to toggle mitigation on or off.
    • If you select Apply OFF to specific applications, then add or remove applications in the Select applications field. Mitigation will turn off for any applications in the field.
  2. Select Save changes.

You have successfully updated your sensor’s mitigation state.
