MediaGuard Integration Phases

If you’re not currently a MediaGuard user and you’d like to get started with our ad fraud prevention tools, a HUMAN representative will help you through the integration process.

The standard MediaGuard integration process consists of five phases:

  1. Integration Scoping
  2. Single-region Testing
  3. Single-region Scaling
  4. Global Scaling
  5. Integration Validation

To help things run as smoothly as possible, we ask that you allocate a portion of your development resources to MediaGuard setup for the duration of this process.

caution

Please refrain from incorporating MediaGuard’s lookup responses in your bid decisioning until the final phase of integration has been completed.

Integration scoping

Before we can build your MediaGuard integration, you’ll need to complete and return a questionnaire about your data center locations and the capacity of each.

HUMAN will then review the results of your questionnaire and work with you to determine the scope of your integration. After we’ve agreed upon these terms, we’ll initiate a kickoff call to ensure that both you and HUMAN are aligned on the deployment steps and timeline. We’ll also ask you to participate in weekly briefings throughout the entire integration process.

Single-region testing

Following the kickoff call, you’ll need to select a test region for your integration. HUMAN will set up a MediaGuard test cluster in your chosen region; this test cluster is identical to a production cluster, with the exception that its throughput is limited to a maximum of 20,000 queries per second (QPS). You can use this test cluster to test your system’s ability to authenticate and perform API requests.

During this phase of the integration process, we'll also ask you to identify the specific fields to pass through the FraudSensor tag.

Single-region scaling

To ensure that MediaGuard responds within SLA, you'll need to scale up the volume of test traffic to the full traffic for that region. HUMAN will monitor the system latency to ensure that MediaGuard’s response times remain optimized at the full traffic volume for the region.

HUMAN will also provide you with a completed FraudSensor tag, which you will need to implement accordingly.

Global scaling

If you have more than one data center, HUMAN will deploy MediaGuard clusters within those regions. After HUMAN has deployed MediaGuard in each region, you can begin sending your regional traffic to that cluster. HUMAN will verify that the integration remains healthy and stable at this scale.

Integration validation

HUMAN requires that all clients go through one final check before you can start blocking bid requests based on MediaGuard's decisioning. To complete this final check, you must provide one week's worth of data at full traffic, which HUMAN will use to make any additional corrections or optimizations to your integration.

If everything is functioning as intended, your MediaGuard integration is officially complete! At this point, you may begin incorporating MediaGuard’s lookup responses in your bid decisioning.
