# Using the Cartridge

The cartridge attaches itself to the `onRequest` method and will protect all of the site routes upon deployment.

You can whitelist a specific set of routes that you do not wish to protect using the [Whitelist by Path](/applications/create-custom-traffic-policy-rules) property.

If you do not wish to use `onRequest`, and instead wish to manually integrate the solution into your controllers, please contact [HUMAN Support](/applications/support) or the Solution Architect assigned to your account.
