# Code Defender Usage

HUMAN Code Defender provides real-time visibility and granular control into the client-side supply chain attack surface, identifies vulnerabilities and anomalous behavior, and proactively mitigates risk.

Code Defender is offered in three tiers: **Core**, **Premium**, and **Elite**. Each tier builds on the previous one with additional features and broader scope.

## Licensing metrics

### Core

**Core** provides PCI DSS 4 compliance for payment pages. Scope is limited to payment pages only. **Core** is billed by **page views on payment pages**, not across your full site. Page views roughly correlate to card transactions.

### Premium

**Premium** provides PCI DSS compliance plus active protection of cardholder data on payment pages. Scope is limited to payment pages only. **Premium** is billed by **page views on payment pages**, not across your full site.

### Elite

**Elite** provides client-side security across your entire site, including supply chain visibility, data leak prevention, and full script monitoring. **Elite** is billed by **monthly unique visitors (MUV)** across your entire site.

> You can upgrade or downgrade between tiers at any time. Moving from **Core** or **Premium** to **Elite** changes your pricing metric from page views to monthly unique visitors.
