# Page Intelligence Overview

Page Intelligence helps you identify invalid traffic (IVT) as your landing page loads. Page Intelligence uses a lightweight, asynchronous JavaScript tag placed in the page header. It provides real-time detection of invalid traffic (IVT), helping you reduce ad fraud and improve traffic quality. You can use the tag response to inform your own mitigation workflows if you choose to implement them. This leads to better marketing efficiency and stronger protection of revenue.

## How Page Intelligence works

As a client-side integration, Page Intelligence includes two components:

* **Decisioning and mitigation:** During page load, the tag detects whether the visitor is IVT and returns an encrypted response to the page. After you decrypt it, you receive a boolean value (`true` or `false`) that indicates whether the traffic is IVT. Page Intelligence does not redirect, block, or exclude traffic by itself. If you choose to act on the result, you may implement workflows such as redirecting traffic to non-revenue pages, serving non-monetized ads, blocking further click paths, or building audience segments and IP exclusion lists in your marketing platforms.
* **Reporting and insights:** The [HUMAN Dashboard](/advertising/understand-the-human-dashboard) reports IVT for your traffic.
